Caudalie was born in 1993 when Bertrand and Mathilde Thomas met Dr Vercauteren, a professor at the University of Pharmacy of Bordeaux. As the grapes were being harvested on their family's property, Chateau Smith Haute Lafitte, the professor noticed the leftover skins and seeds of the grapes in the wine press and exclaimed,

"Do you know that you are throwing away treasures?"

He explained that the polyphenols in the vines and grapes had extra-ordinary anti-oxidant power and it was then that Caudalie was created.

For over ten years now Caudalie have worked to research and discover the most effective skin treatments.
