Robin Brown and his wife Anna Cirronis, started Erbaviva in 1996 as a way to offer mommies-to-be and babies quality products completely free from all harsh detergents, chemical fragrances, and other unhealthy additives.
Erbaviva offer a wide range of products for mommies-to-be and babies. Using the highest quality organic and wild crafted essential oils, the products are freshly made with loving care through all stages of production at their facility in Southern California. Most of the bottled products are packaged in recyclable amber glass, protecting the essential oils from ambient light and preserving their therapeutic integrity. When plastic bottles are used they are made of recyclable environmentally friendly PET.
Erbaviva are very proud of their ingredients labels, they list all of the ingredients and state which ones are organic and only label products "organic" on the front label if they contain more than 99% certified organic ingredients.
Erbaviva is one of the few skin care producers to carry the USDA certified organic seal. This means, the ingredients, facility, and the process their products go through meet the stringent National Organic Program standards. Products carrying the USDA seal contain 95% or more USDA certified organic ingredients.
Erbaviva source the highest quality organic vegetable oils, which are kept fresh and pure under optimum conditions. They use natural and organic antioxidants in the oils to preserve their shelf life. Oils are bottled with nitrogen (a natural and inert gas) which keeps the oils in a preserved time capsule until opened.
Erbaviva creams use a completely natural emulsifier which though it has a long and complicated name (Cetearyl Wheat Bran Glycosides and Cetearyl Alcohol) is a completely natural extract from wheat bran. The Cetearyl Alcohol is not an alcohol as we know it, it is in fact a natural fatty acid that is emollient to the skin; again derived from wheat bran.
The shampoos are completely free from all harsh detergents (no Sodium Laurel Sulphates, or anything remotely related to it). The main detergent is Olivoil Glutinate which is derived naturally from olive oil with a secondary mild detergent called Decyl Polyglucose (naturally extracted from corn).
The foaminess of the shampoos and body washes is boosted with Quilaja extract, a completely natural extract from the Chilean Soap Bark Tree.
All the other raw ingredients, whether they be Organic Oats, Organic Milk, Organic Lavender Flowers, Organic Echinacea etc., all have a remarkable story connected to how and where they are sourced.
